From October 27-30, I attended the International Aviation Safety Seminar (IASS) in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The event was well attended and informative and approximately 250 aviation safety professionals attended the event from all over the world.
It was a good opportunity to meet with attendees and discuss topical issues including, data analysis and sharing, SMS, maintenance and human factors as well emerging challenges for the aviation sector.
Many opinions were shared and it is clear that the key players in the aviation industry are continuing to aim for the highest levels of safety possible. I met with many people at the event, including, existing clients as well as other delegates who may not use QPulse as yet but who were generally interested to learn that the system offers an effective way of managing so many key Safety & Quality processes within one integrated system.
I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the delegates themselves represented a really diverse cross-section of industry from authorities to operators, MROs, TRTOs and more.
The event also offered a great networking opportunity outwith the confines of the exhibition hall and Hawaii had numerous restaurants and bars in which to carry on discussions at a more informal level.
All in all, Hawaii was an excellent event and a great chance to catch up with faces both old and new.
