I recently got back from India where
I spent 6 days in Delhi with Spicejet, a low cost airline working in the
internal Indian aviation sector. They had previously used Q-Pulse 4.2 but had let it
lapse about 12 months ago, so to all intents and purposes it was a new system
for them.
The guys at Spicejet were a great group of people to teach, very proactive and keen to get hands
on with the system (see photos attached). The training was split into classroom
theory "show and tell" sessions, followed by practical sessions where
they gathered round 3 or 4 computers and very much assisted each other in
getting to know the system. It certainly gave me a different slant on
delivering practical training with a very enthusiastic bunch of people.
The only
down side was that given the breadth of how they wish to use the system (all
modules will be in use) 6 days is not enough time to do them justice,
something perhaps that needs to be taken into account for overseas customers.
On a lighter note, this was also the first time I have had training disrupted by monkeys! One afternoon we were
in the training room and there was a commotion from the ceiling above where a
monkey had climbed into the ceiling space, got itself trapped and was busy destroying
anything it could find. The building was evacuated for two hours while they coaxed it
out!
Apart from that I had a great time -
I was given a guided tour of some of the major sites of Delhi which
was fascinating and the staff at Spicejet looked after me all the way.
No
hesitation in going back if I get the chance!
