The transition from our old Customer Zone to the Community is now complete, following the completion of our new Knowledgebase. The Knowledgebase is designed to be a library of frequently asked questions and procedures.
What is a Knowledgebase?
A Knowledgebase (KB for short) is a "special kind of database for knowledge management", according to Wikipedia. In our case, it's a web based help file about Q-Pulse.
What's different about the new Knowledgebase?
Apart from the obvious changes to the look and feel of the Knowledgebase, the navigation system is completely different. You are no longer restricted to searching for topics - you can browse through a directory of topics or browse the index for keywords. Apart from the technical changes, our processes for managing the Knowledgebase have changed. New topics will come from discussions in the Q-Pulse forums in the Community. If a question is asked and answered by Support in the Community, we'll add it to the Knowledgebase and reply to the discussion, sharing the URL to the KB article. The solution will be written by our Support team and then checked (and redrafted if necessary) by our Technical Author. The updated Knowledgebase is then uploaded to the Community. We have started from scratch with this Knowledgebase, so it may appear a little light on content for now. Don't worry, it's a living project and will be updated regularly over time.
How do I access the Knowledgebase?
You can access the Knowledgebase by using the link on the Community, or by visiting www.gaelcommunity.com/knowledgebase.
As mentioned above, the KB is an ongoing project, so if you have any feedback or suggestions about the interface or content, please let us know by replying to Alan in the Knowledgebase thread.
