    Introduce yourself - Blood Banks

There are more and more Blood Banks implementing Q-Pulse all the time, why not introduce yourself here and talk to other users that face the same unique challenges that you do!!

    Re: Introduce yourself

    Hi,

My name is Marilyn Jeffers and I am currently heading up the implementation of Q-Pulse V5 at the Blood Bank of Alaska.

We are moving away from our paper-base system and migrating everything into Q-Pulse.  As we expected, this is a fairly large undertaking and has consumed all of my time.  However, with the help of Gael we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.  After I surface from rolling out the document module, I plan to redirect my attention to the CAPA module.

I have really enjoyed getting to work with everyone at Gael, and I love the new software.

    Thanks!

My name is Larry Sussman and I am the Director of Quality Systems at New England Organ Bank.  I have just purchsed Q Pulse and am looking forward to the configuration and training in May.

    Hi Larry

Good to see you on the forum, did you get in touch with Carol Perry at Rhode Island Blood Center yet?

Also meant to ask, other than FDA, 21 CFR Part 11 compliance with Q- Pulse, are there any other Organ Bank specific regulations and any examples of how you will use Q-Pulse to assist you with compliance?

    Cheers

    Alan

See http://www.jacie.org/ for Bone Marrow/Haemopoetic Stem Cell Quality Standards

In the UK, all tissue banking is subject to the Human Tissue Act & is regulated by the Human Tissue Authority (http://www.hta.gov.uk/ - ignore the Act itself & look for the "Directions")

I have just about finished enetring CPA, JACIE standards  HTA directions & GMP regulations into the Area Of Standard tables.

When the QPulse export tool becomes available I would like to make these available to the community

Great to hear Gary - one of the things on my agenda is to introduce sharing of files between community users. When the new version of our Community platform is installed, we'll have the ability to start "groups", where people with similar interests can have their own forums and file libraries - for example, we could have an NHS group or split that even deeper into different medical areas, such as pathology, labs, etc.
