    Accident records

Is it possible to have accident records added as a development.

It would be really good to be able to add a list of accidents each person has suffered linking to day, date, time, location, equipment used, procedures being followed.

    Re: Accident records

    Dave,

The new add-on modules introduced into V5.5 for aviation occurrence management should be able to be customised for accident and incident reporting. This would enable forms such as the IR1 fom to be completed then classified and investigated via Q-Pulse.

More news to follow once we properly get our heads round healthcare incident management.

Interestingly the old Safecode application that was widely used throughout the NHS in the 90s for clinical incident management had its inspiration in the aviation sector, as design team studied the WinBasis occurrence management system that was developed by BA.

    All the best,

    Martin

    Re: Accident records

    Hi Martin

    Thank you for your reply

I am thinking of this from Two directions

1 - Staff members need to have records of their accidents in and around the lab i.e. needle stick injuries, cuts, trips breaks.

also we need to log accidents that are major as IR1s as well - we do this as CA/PAs at the moment but we can't link them back well to staff records.

I think the idea of the CPA standard is to make everything about a staff member be easily visible in one easy step. I would have thought most accreditation system will be the same.

I am happy to have a look at the new module and give a view if you can give me a web link to a test database....

Don't forget that healthcare has looked to aviation for ideas for quite some time

    Dave,

Good to hear we're thinking along the same lines re. an integrated system. Will keep you posted on developments and you can have a look at the Incident system once we've done some initial healthcare customisation.

    All the best,

    Martin

    Hi Martin

Just to follow on from the comments above.....

We have a member of staff who has a particular H&S problem (bad back) at a particular work station. What is the best way of logging this.

Does the new risk management module allow for logging location risk assessments and then raising accidents / non conformances against this workplace?
