    Thanks!

A little about myself: I've been working at Duke as a sysadmin for a number of years now.  We have a QA team that purchased 4.2 back in the day, and when 5.0 came out last June, they quickly bought it.  We just implemented it last Thursday (hey, what's a year between friends!), and so I figured I better check up on what possible modifications/upgrades to the platform were made since our gold release from last summer.  I'm glad to see that 6.0 didn't make it out the door in the near-year since our purchase.

Our 4.2 database had gone out of date, but we are curious to ascertain what steps would be involved to migrate that data into v5.  In addition, where can we find these 5.2 (and now 5.5 I'm reading) upgrades to the platform?

    Welcome Poonam and Nik!

Poonam - I hope you get the go-ahead forr an upgrade, it's a good time to do it with version 5.5 being released last week. If you need any advice about it, give us an email. Might get to meet you if you do get a trip out to Scotland.

Nik - it's good to see someone from the IT side of thigs on the Community. I'd like to get some content and possibly a forum dedicated the the IT professionals who install and configure Q-Pulse in their organisation, like yourself! Let me know if you have any suggestions for this.

Tom McMaster - East Ayrshire Council Roads Department

We've been using QPulse for a few years now (well before I arrived at the council just over a year ago). We're currently running version 4.2 but we're looking to populate QPulse 5 at some point this year having successfully installed it. As the department "geek" (specified in job description :)) the technical side of QPulse (installation, SQL administration, etc) is my remit. I'm also one of a team of 5 designated quality assurance reps in the department.

We use QPulse for a variety of key tasks including managing our documentation, in-department procedures, suppliers, equipment and training.

I think that having a forum like this is an excellent idea. Not only will it provide a good source of feedback and knowledge from other users but it's a great way for Gael to get an inside look at what it's customers are after.  Too many companies seem eager to leave customers high and dry after purchase but this looks like the way forward.

Thanks for introducing yourself and for the comments Tom.

Your right, I hope the Community can be used to gather feedback and user opinions to shape future releases of Q-Pulse and our services and I honestly believe that this will increase a lot over the next few months.

I started a "government" industry forum, so that might be a good place to ask any questions purely about local government or using Q-Pulse in local government.

    Cheers!

    Hi Andy,

I've used QPulse for over 10 years now.  Give it a couple of months and you will wonder how you existed without it.

    Welcome Robert.

If you have any questions about the Academy, there is an Academy forum - Richie, our Academy guy, will answer any questions you have in there. You can get a demo or free trial at www.gaelacedemy.com.

If you need to know anything about Q-Pulse, you've got access to over 700 customers (as of today) and our Support team - so I'd hope you'd get the answer you need!

Yes, 914 and yes it is mine.  Its a '74 1.8L.  It took me 8 years (wife, kids, house projects) to replace the rear suspension mounts that had rusted.  She is back on the road for the second summer now and am enjoying much!

    Re: Introduce yourself

G'day. Just thought I'd start with that as most people believe Aussies all talk like that.

My name is Dean Bell and I'm the Quality Systems Coordinator for Clipsal Australia based in Adelaide. We have just changed over to QPV5 and I must say the feedback from our staff is all positive. We have rolled this out to 9 sites Australia wide and we are looking to include all of our Sales and distribution centres (about 30 locations in all) by the end of 2009. With grey hairs in abundance, high blood pressure and endless bottles of Jack Daniels it should all go quite well.

    Cheers,
    Dean
