Has anyone any experience with starting up a quality award scheme? Some examples of do's and dont's would be helpful? This is to be aimed at a developing group of quality individuals (with perhaps immature QMS's) to offer encouragement and stimulate improvement.

What would encourage you to participate?

I posed a similar question with CQI and IBMS with little assistance.

I'm pleased to report we have had 3 entries for the Quality Award. Presentation will be at our Scottish Quality Management Discussion (SQMDG) November event at the Teacher's Building, St Enoch Square, Glasgow (Friday 21st Nov).   

So is this an internal award scheme covering all staff who have something to do with quality, in your organisation (Greater Glasgow NHS) ?

Are you giving winners certificates that will go onto their personal training records - CPD style?

This is an award scheme for members of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (IBMS) which is UK and wider. The winner will receive an engraved "Quaich", their name on the role of merit and a cash prize. Being an accredited event all entrants of merit will also gain 5 credits in the IBMS CPD scheme.
