    Weddings

    Hey all,

I'm due to get married soon (still time to leave the country, I know) and one of the last things to organise is the table names for the reception. Does anyone have any good suggestions?

    Cheers

    Re: Weddings

On a serious note, I was at a wedding a few years ago and the theme for tables was Scottish islands.

Don't ask me to repeat them but... things like Skye, Lewis, Mull, Eigg, etc.

Surprised they're not named after Celtic players in your case - The Lennon table, Larsson table, etc! Wink

    Re: Weddings

Over here we put place names for the guests but this is the first time I have heard of naming the tables or in fact having a table theme.  Caused some discussion here and one of the girls had an idea of using QPulse as the theme.  Name your tables after the modules in QPulse and then when you run out of modules use the stages.  What a marketing tool - you could get a bonus out to it.

    Good luck

    Re: Weddings

Thanks for the suggestion Gay, not sure the good lady would be that keen on the a CA/PA table though!! :-) Suprised you dont do something similar over there, we do use place names but it's traditional for tables names also........people do things like name them after places they have both visited together or favourite songs, movies etc. My finacee is English and I'm Scottish so we have been thinking Lochs (Scottish name for Lake) and Lakes or even Scottish and English football legends!!! I think you should start a new wedding trend over there.

    Re: Weddings

    Hi Kevin,

Rather than football legends, what about football managers?:

Jose Mourinho table  - for the chosen ones (Top table)

Alex Ferguson table - for the blaw hards in the family

Rafa Benitez table - for people who need to swap places after each course

Arsene Wenger table - for the family members that always need an extra 7 minutes to finish each course

    etc...

Brilliant Paul, I can stick all the nippy sweeties at the Gordon Strachan table and those that like a wee drink or 10 at the Brain Clough table!

My sister had 'Shrek' as her theme, some people weren't very happy at being at the 'donkey' table!!

What about favourite films, flower names (boring I know) or places/cities you have visited??
