Daniel,
I am quite upset by the reluctance of Gael not to share information regarding pending improvements. For instance, I spent a good two hours trying to sort out an issue in assets. The outcome of this resulted in support confirming it was a problem and I was given a reference number.
If this issue was published, it may save the next 10 companys 2 hours of their time each not having to go through the same routine when they come across it.
Forums are free and open area's for users. I could easily start a thread listing the fault/s and reference code/s my company has found so far to help other users, however I do not want to risk damaging our relationship with Gael or being banned from the Forum area.
I could go the other way, and send every single issue I find to Support straight away to fish around see if it has been logged, but I don't want to do this as I expect they are like me, very busy. I normally look into each issue very carefully to see if it is me or my users who are not using the software correctly. 9 times out of 10, this is the case and by doing this I save support time and effort.
Perhaps you can think about my points. I am happy to share my experiences with other users as I believe it saves everyone time, But it seems Gael would like to keep these errors internally.
I believe Q-Pulse 5 is a very good piece of software and I am sure all users will agree that all new software has its problems. It would give me a great deal of confidence going forwards if Gael would share this error list information ahead of the fixes. Time is money and any error found can help everyone to get around it until a fix is made.
If Gael decide not to share this information, what is the Forum policy on this kind of post?
My reply is meant only as a constructive discussion. I do not wish to make trouble.
Best regards,
Alex.
